Ayubowan, welcome to the July issue in the second volume of the online IT magazine diGIT.
Hope you enjoy reading the contents of our magazine and looking forward to more new features. Let me remind again about the Ambassador programme that we have in place for school students. We’ve had a few joining with us last month. You can see the current list of Ambassadors via http://digit.lk/ambassadors.
We started on the ’10 minutes’ segment last month and have added a few more interviews. So be sure to check them as we update with new interviews regularly. We hope to bring more key personalities in the IT field onto the 10 minutes show.
Let’s highlight a few articles from the numerous articles we have for this month.
Everyone must be gripped with the football worldcup. So why not see what Kushan has in store with his review about FIFA online which is out this month. Check his article for more details.
Apple released its latest iPhone at the end of June and Isuru has a good article on the good and bad about iPhone 4. See if you are also interested in getting the new iPhone or whether you want to wait till the 5th one comes out.
Want to know what Virtusa did for World Environment day? Find out in our local IT buzz section.
We have our new contributor Deepika giving us insights into very interesting workshops that happens in Sri Lanka. This time, she writes about the workshop where some members of the Faculty of Arts got to know about typing in Sinhala Unicode. If you also have carried out an interesting workshop in Sri Lanka promoting IT, then we want to hear from you so that our readers can get to know about. Write to us at news@digit.lk.
Do check out these articles and many more presented in the July issue of diGIT. As always we are looking for talented enthusiastic individuals who have an interest in writing about IT. If that could be you, then get in touch with us. Check http://digit.lk/contribute for more information. You can also contact us by sending an email to comments@digit.lk
Let me end this month’s editorial with a quotation by Thomas Jefferson who once said
‘A Nation's best defense is an educated citizenry.’
Happy reading!
