Topic: e-Government Policy for CIOs

This is the third workshop planned for CIOs focused on e-Government Policy that was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers in December 2009. The objective of this workshop is to effectively communicate the implementation of this set of policies and procedures government heads of organizations and their CIOs as directed by the Presidential Secretariat. Heads of government organizations in Galle, Matara, Hambanthota and Monaragala district and divisional secretaries together with their CIOs are expected to participate at this event.

The policy articulates the minimum requirements expected of government organizations, and for this workshop ICTA has selected 14 items which are expected to be implemented within the first six months. Thereafter, ICTA expects to perform verification every six months, on organizations ICT activities and practices, and publish an e-Government Readiness Index for government organizations. The Policy is mandatory for providing a unified approach in implementing e-government services.
