Session: Data-tier Applications in Visual Studio 2010 and SQL Server 2008 R2
Microsoft’s investments in application and multi-server management will help reduce the complexity around developing, deploying, and managing data-tier applications. A core concept of application and multi-server management in SQL Server is the data-tier application (DAC). A DAC is a self-contained unit of deployment that defines and bundles database objects, SQL Server instance objects that are associated with the database, and deployment requirements of an application.
With the introduction of DAC SQL Server and Visual Studio team together will enhance the experience/ productivity of the development of data-tier applications and put the full-stop for lot of limitations and pain points in the data layer application development.
